CloudRetail sends automated transactional emails to your customers at key points in the order journey. You can customise the content, branding, and sender details for each notification type.
Accessing Email Notification Settings
Go to Settings > Notifications. You'll see a full list of automated emails organised by category: Orders, Shipping, Returns, and Account.
Available Notification Types
Commonly customised notifications include:
- Order Confirmation — sent immediately after a successful purchase
- Order Shipped — triggered when you add tracking information
- Out for Delivery — sent via carrier integration if supported
- Refund Confirmation — sent when a refund is processed
- Abandoned Checkout Recovery — sent after a configurable delay
Editing an Email Template
Click any notification name to open the template editor. You can:
- Edit subject lines and preview text
- Update body copy using plain text or basic HTML
- Insert dynamic variables such as
{{ customer.first_name }}and{{ order.total }}, which populate automatically per order - Upload your store logo and set a brand colour using the Branding panel at the top of the editor
Click "Preview" to see a rendered sample before saving. Click "Save" to apply changes. All edits go live immediately.
Setting Your Sender Name and Email
Navigate to Settings > Notifications > Sender Details. Enter the display name (e.g., "The CloudRetail Team at YourBrand") and a reply-to email address. Note: emails are sent via CloudRetail's delivery infrastructure to ensure deliverability.
